You may have seen it on your feed: a bride sharing a beautifully edited reel of her wedding the very next morning, full of laughter, speeches and dance-floor chaos. That is the work of a wedding content creator, one of the fastest-growing roles in the wedding world. If you are wondering what one actually does, and whether you need one alongside your photographer, this guide explains everything. I will walk you through what happens on the day, how it compares with traditional film, why so many couples are choosing it and what my own packages include, so you can decide whether it is the right fit for the way you want to remember your celebration.

What Is a Wedding Content Creator?

This kind of specialist captures short-form, social-ready video and behind-the-scenes clips throughout your day. Rather than a long cinematic film delivered months later, the focus is on quick, authentic content you can watch, share and relive almost straight away.

Think of the little moments you would usually miss: your partner’s reaction as you walk down the aisle, your friends’ faces during the speeches, the cake cutting, the first dance and the late-night chaos. I am there for all of it, filming in a vertical format made for Instagram, TikTok and your phone’s camera roll.

What Does a Wedding Content Creator Do on the Day?

Every day is different, but here is roughly how it works with me:

  • Getting ready. Candid clips of hair and make-up, the dress, the buttonholes and those nervous, excited moments.
  • The ceremony. Key moments such as the walk down the aisle, the vows and the first kiss.
  • Drinks reception. Guests laughing, the confetti throw and natural moments between you and your loved ones.
  • Speeches and dinner. The best one-liners and reactions, ready for sharing.
  • The party. The first dance, your friends on the dance floor and anything that gets a little wild.

Unlike many content creators who shoot on a phone, I film on a professional mirrorless camera. That means crisp, cinematic-looking clips that still feel spontaneous and real.

How Is a Wedding Content Creator Different from a Videographer?

The two roles complement each other rather than compete. A videographer usually creates a longer, polished film with carefully recorded audio, delivered a few weeks after the wedding. My role focuses on fast, short-form edits and behind-the-scenes clips, often delivered within days. If you want to dig deeper, I have written a full guide to content creation or videography and the key differences between them.

Why Couples Are Booking a Wedding Content Creator

  • Speed. You can share your day with friends and family while the excitement is still fresh.
  • Authenticity. The content captures the real atmosphere, sound and energy of your day.
  • Value. Content packages are often more affordable than full videography, making them a great way to get your day on film.
  • No phones needed. You and your guests can put your phones away and actually be present.

My Packages

I offer two content creation packages:

  • Kea, from £399: 3 to 4 hours of coverage, one highlight reel for socials and three short-form social media edits, all with a 48-hour turnaround.
  • Tomtit, from £599: 7 to 8 hours of coverage, a gallery of raw files, one highlight reel for socials and five short-form social media edits, with a 48-hour turnaround.

Both packages can be booked on their own or alongside my photography. See them all on my packages page.
